I love seeing that someone has viewed my profile, even if though I'm not looking currently (or they're totally not what I'd be interested in anyway). I like the attention. :-) I used to be shy about viewing profiles but now I look at people from the forums all the time just to see more about them.

I agree with most everything people have written here. But the original post makes the point I'd agree with most. For those of us who are available/looking, it seems having a profile with a picture nets very little attention. Sigh.

Get out on the boards and start posting.  That in itself makes you more visible than if you rely solely on your profile being splashed across someone's home page.  People can get to know you, how you think, your interests, in a way that i do not find can be done as clearly in those little profile boxes.   [;)]  Just my own thoughts.

Personally...I think perving is great.  It may not always get you a lot of attention, but still fun to discover things about other people.

Yesssss!  Just means i have to keep checking back over and over until it finally shows up.  The days when it seems to take 8 hours or more really drive me up the wall.

Depression is relative. Compared to 70 year old men checking out my profile... no, I am not terribly depressed to learn of them checking out yours.[;)]

The function interests and often amuses me, but I never get excited when I look at it. I'm prone to viewing people's profiles simply to make sure I have their gender or whatnot correct when I'm talking to them on the forums. I'll also get a better look at an interesting picture regardless of who they are or what they are looking for. I usually suspect that it's someone doing the same thing.

I actually love the "Who's Viewing Me" function.  It satisfies my exhibitionist tendencies.
