I had a boss once who always solicited new ideas at staff mtgs with the premise though, that if you suggest something that you also be willing to either organize it or at least work on it as some part of committee. it would seem that would scare ppl away from suggesting things, but instead it got ppl very much involved in suggesting and implementing new creative ways of doing things. So, I would suggest that if you wish to see poster of the week awards/mentions...then why not get on the ball and start organizing a way to get this done?...it doesn't have to be something implemented by CM staff...most of what goes on here is generated by we the members. Remember the term "grassroots?" MNN

Many good and utterly useless bad replies here,or should i call that dribble lol,but do come on please honour all of us people who are still sane.And please do the honourable thing and please award one person each week for post of the week,and one let's say for the wooden spoon for the worst post of the week.At least it would make writing posts more fun,and at least my posts are original,and not the same ol same ol dribble.I will say that much for myself lol.

Obviously you are to young to recall the CM awards that were given at the tail end of ought six...I damn near near swept the boards every single week...There was an outcry and an ensuing investigation which led to me being moderated for the next 15 months...(now referred to as "the age of despair" in CM lore). It was a fascinating and vibrant time to participate on the CM forums....I helped more people than I could ever get to repay me..

What one person thinks of as ''dribble or rubbish'' might be something serious or meaningful to someone else.....and who is going to be the one to give out the award? The person that gives out the award must have an opinion too and then it might be different from what others would think of as worthy enough.

Damn there are other threads like this? Oh how did I miss them?[sm=ugh.gif] Edited to add: there are all kinds of threads,(dating ones, calendar ones, etc) to guage popularity started by users. If you truly want this, you could always start a thread every week for post or thread of the week, and tally votes, while at the same time seeing by the number of responses how many other users are interested in participating. Who knows, that may be the most popular thread of the week.
