Arcanum808 -> The way of the Dom (9/15/2005 11:55:11 AM)

Random thoughts...

So we're a different sort... governed by a mindset to which none other than our enigmatic selves can truly understand, though it is our ultimate quest to seek out and share the labyrinth of our thoughts and desires with others - or perhaps that special someone (or more if you have them).

No two are truly alike, though cookie cutter versions seem to spring up, preaching to the few who would hear them about their path to domination - mimicking styles read from a book or perused from a website... allowing a snag here and there from some needing individual, desiring to be taken control of. Is there a right way to Dom? We all know the answer is, NO. From the iron fist, to the cotton heart, as long as we have those precious ones that look up to us for our guidance - with a patient mind, resting in our lap - we have done what we set out to do, to Dom.

For in this, we are truly nothing without those who consider themselves our subs/slaves. As every person needs air to breathe, we as Dominants owe our existance to the very ones that make up our other half, our submissives. For what are we without them? And vice versa.

The dreaded day then comes, when our hearts that had been made whole - as if the pieces of the puzzle to who we truly are were now complete - our love, our life, our existance... is gone. As Doms we are expected to shrug it off and except it, to show no sign of waivering... but our humanity tends to get the better of us. Do we chase? Or is chasing something a Dom does not do? Do we let the heart grow fonder through absence? Time can do as much damage as it can repair. Or do we talk, as people in love should do, to work things out - knowing that we are the best for each other.

Chronicles of the once whole, Dom.

You're you, I'm me. I'm not here to complete anyone else and no one is here to complete me. We're our own people, together we come together and form a relationship between us which allows us to become MORE of who we are.

People who try to think/act like dominants should experience emotions and life differently from other people always end up sadly disappointed.

Whatever you enjoy doing is what you do as a dom.

Lordandmaster -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/15/2005 12:54:32 PM)

Just be yourself. People who do what they think they are "expected" to do end up living someone else's life.

Very nice, but the questions you pose are the paths you have to travel, for your answers will differ from those who have travelled simular paths. In the end you will get there.

nella -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/15/2005 3:31:40 PM)

Werry nice, touh provoking, i enyoyed reading the OP`s post.

sultryvoice -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/15/2005 4:25:13 PM)

Everyone has a path they travel and none are the same..If they were, that would make us quite boring..

Respectfully,
sultry

Synocense -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 11:44:27 AM)

*scratches her head*

Have we just witnessed a reunion?

MstrHellsFury -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 12:52:10 PM)

and just when I thought it was safe to go back into the water...a fin appears...since this is all about opinions...this one I can't let pass without my bite of this apple...maybe I've just been around way to long...maybe I'm just to jaded...but my oh my...to the shallow...weep and call out...poor man...let me help....to this mind and eye...well I have to admit...it's quite and advertisment...ladies line up and get your head stamped...now why didn't I think to just jump and down yelling ...pick me..pick me....

now before I get the rail..tar and feathers...and run outta dodge...I'm not having a bad day...I'm just being dumbly domly...and it's after all...just my little opinion...what's it worth...less than a fading thought..right...

Fury

CaptCraig -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 1:46:39 PM)

Yo Fury, you beat me to it, but don't you agree, not a bad shot for a 23 year old. The thing that got me was the underlying theme,"I thought I was a Dom but I have just been dumped, told off, insulted, exposed.....or whatever.....by a sub and here I am wallowing in self pity."
When I was 23 I had just read the "Story of O" with a perpetual hard on and that was 39 years ago. Man have I learned a lot since then. At 23 I couldn't have been a Dom even under hypnosis but I thought I was. Ah youth, the problem is it's wasted on the young. But keep a stiff upper and forge ahead...Excelsior!

Ooooook. Just because YOU were a 23 yo who couldn't have been a dom doesn't mean the rest of us can't and aren't.

Trust me, you DON'T want to start disparaging on "youth of bdsm" here based on a single post by a single person.

slaveHIS -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 6:17:59 PM)

Oooooook yourself :) I was also a neophite fighter pilot at that time too and compared to the real ones HA, I should have been dead. Check out the bio of Col. Robin Olds. Old Masters with cunning will beat youth and skill every time. Been there done it, on both counts.

slaveHIS -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 6:20:49 PM)

Shit, went and posted on my slave's side....Ya ya ya I can hear the howling . I'm trying to get out of here tonight for a week of camping. slave is laughing, she'll get her's :)

CaptCraig -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 6:26:03 PM)

OK, Now you know slave so that is a good thing. there will be hinterland pics of slave when we return.
Later

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 7:04:15 PM)

Just remember it was you who began to suggest that age was an indication and limitation of abilities.

Faramir -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 8:41:33 PM)

What a muddled, disjointed and inchoate post. It manages to be fatuous and self-congratulatory while simultaneously self-pitying - a rare feat of bad writing and rhetoric.

Maybe there's something salvageable in the last paragraoh, but all the "no one can truly understand our angst" shit in the first two paragraphs is complete tripe. I would ask one thing: if you must write purple prose, please use the /captJamesTKirk format, 'k?

Arcanum808 -> RE: The way of the Dom (9/16/2005 11:17:20 PM)

hah and then it turns sour.... interesting...

Fury,

Well, my sentiments exactly and hell, they haven't run me out yet, I'd say you were pretty safe old man ~grin~

No offense to the OP, but it sounds like you might benefit from shutting the computer off and getting hooked up with the local folks in your area. You sound a tad idealistic to me.

Lily
