you know, you hear of so many people on the sight that enjoy watersports ( and hey if thats what rocks your boat go for it) but there is a common misconception about it. So many mistake sterile clean urine, thinking that means its pure. and in a way it does. IF your healthy and dont have an infection of the adrenal glands ( kidneys and such) or an infection of the urethral tract then it is sterile, that however, does NOT mean it is pure. there are still toxins. toxins are not bacterial or viral so urine can contain them and still be sterile but they can be just as bad. toxins make up 8% of urine. more if the urinater is not fully hydrated, and these toxins can stil make you sick. so, knowing that, would you still do it?

this kind of play is very personal.  i would only do it with someone i know is safe...and i don't bother to know if someone is safe unless i get to the adoring stage of things.

Since the function of the kidney is to filter out waste products from the body, the degree of toxins it contains is related in someway to what toxins a person ingests / absorbs into their circulation. Many drugs are excreted through the kidneys, some still with active metabolites, but getting an "overdose" from ingesting small amounts of urine is unlikely.

I agree with your post that urine is not sterile all the time. The entire plumbing from the kidneys to the urethra must be free from infection. The adrenals, although attached to the kidneys (forming part of the renal system), usually don't matter too much in transmitting infection unless it leaks bacteria into the bloodstream, and thence to the kidneys.

The amount of toxins in the urine of a hydrated, healthy adult is less than that in a Big Mac. That being said, even if you do not have an active infection the lower urogenital tract always has bacteria and yeast living in it. If your partner is not colonized with the strains you are, there is the possibility of infection.

Note I said possibility, the actual likelyhood of infecting a healthy adult with what would be flushed out during urination is almost 0%.

Water Sports are not really my thing, but like most everything in the lifestyle you need to be aware of the risks to minimuze then and make a sound decision. Nothing we do is truly safe, nor is getting out of bed and eating breakfast, but we still do that without choking to death every morning.
