Why is the constant rush to identify any edge play which a particular poster has identified as off limits for them as being, not just edgy and potentially dangerous, but 'Sure Death'? That's outrageous. I personally avoid asphyxiation because I find the windpipe to be a delicate and frightening structure, so I personally prefer forms of breath play which do not count on squeezing my neck. However, I certainly do breath play, and I love it. I freak out and am fighting him much sooner than I would be taking in air on my own if I were holding my breath, simply because of the feat factor. It is one place where I ALWAYS fight, it is a human response to fight for breath and nothing I can do about that, so it frees me to let go and allow that to happen, though I stay relaxed and complainant as long as I can manage. The very idea that he literally controls the air I breath, that my next breath is a gift from him, is tremendously fulfilling for me.
I am not judging those who chose to do constriction, though I always advise newcomers to try other methods. Until I have reason to think otherwise, I assume that others play within the bounds of as much safety as can be managed for the activities they wish to persue. And, for gods sake, yes, never, ever do it alone; of course you can pass out, and then, if you are cutting off your air with a passive method, such as your own wieght, you will probably die alone. But, please, could you leave your YKINOKWM attitude at the door?
