DREAMS
Tho' she has now met someone new,
sometimes her dreams are still of you.
Why does your memory torment me,
Why can't I let my heart be free?
The past is gone and will not return
The bridges crossed, so let them burn.
He holds me close in arms so strong
and shows me love all night long.
He's good and gentle in his way
I grow closer to him every day.
Still my heart stays closed to him
I long to be free to love again.
In time my broken heart will heal
and love for him I hope to feel.
Until that day I hope and pray
that dreams of you will go away.
My heart is no longer yours to hold
Our desire once fierce now dead and cold.
For I know you never truly loved me,
So leave my memory and let me be.
