i've always loved the name Twyla...& Zoey...i now have a great niece named Zoey...when i named my daughter, nobody else had named their girls Chelsea, so it was a very different name that she, of course hated...i like my name too:  Linea, even though it's misspelled...i pronounce it as though it had 2 N's though.....

The names i picked out for girls were;
Aryelle (pronounced R E L)
and Lilia (pronounced Lil E uh) Lily for short. which is what we went with.

For a boy we both agreed right away on Tyler Kristofer.

I had an old neighbor who named their daughter Lexxus and their son Blaze.  I always thought they would have to grow up to be porn stars to be properly matched with the names they were given.

GreedyTop -> RE: Given names (3/1/2008 5:13:19 PM)

I have a girlfriend (who is now a born again Christian),,, her husband (total oxygen thief) named their daughter Amber :Lynn.   Karen didn't discover until Amber was 3 yrs old that Amber Lynn is the name of a bigtime porn actress....

Working at a hotel, I get to see a lot of names (oh GOD don't I).

Recently, we've had Emily, Victoria, Elsbeth,  & Alissandra check in (no, not all together..get yer minds outta the gutter).
These are all names I like.

What are some YOU like?

I had a friend a few years ago who knew a guy trying to break into the porn film business. His porn name? "Fizz Ed!"

hejira92 -> RE: Given names (3/3/2008 2:38:18 PM)

I have an unusual name that everyone mispronounced when I was a kid; so for my kids, I wanted names that weren't unheard of, but not so popular that there would be 4 of them in one class (like Lisa, Karen and Cathy 40 years ago, or Tiffany, Ashley, Kaitlyn and Brittney now)

When my oldest was born, the name Jacob was hardly in the top 100 names- soon after it became #1 and held for several years. Boy was I mad!

For my second- I choose Ethan. It was not even in the top 100. Guess what? Soon made #1. Everyone was copying me!

My third was a girl. I named her Lydia. Thank god it hasn't shot up there in popularity yet. But my boy's name for her would have been Aiden.

I sure can pick 'em. [:@]

LadyLynx -> RE: Given names (3/3/2008 3:01:37 PM)

if I have a girl, her name will mostlikely be Asaia Carol. (Asaia is the name of a goddess from one my favorite series. And the name Carol is my mom's.)  I love the names Mikaila, Nicolai,Taliesen, Aliana,(wanted to name that future little girl of mine Aliana,but then my cousin named her daughter Alanna. lol.) I like the names Michael and David, but currently getting over a bad crush on a guy named Michael,(and I've known waaaaaaaaaay to many jerks with that name!) And I have dated 3 guys with that name, and the last couple of guys I have been talking to, were with that name!

And when I can, I would like to get a Maine Coon cat (preferably gray and black.) and name him Horatio. (nothing to do with Horatio Caine,CSI Miami.)

SteelofUtah -> RE: Given names (3/3/2008 4:40:47 PM)
