By "going feral" I mean growling, biting, clawing, and so forth.
How many other Doms/ Dommes /Masters /Mistresses/ and all other Toppy sorts have had their normally sweet submissives revert to wild animal status when they experience fire play? What did the two of you learn from this experience?

Mine seems to go feral in off the wall ways when she's had too much to drink... starts barking, growling and doing a lot of off the wall animal things.   We've been making a lot of jokes and having 1/2 serious conversation about getting her a cage for the corner of the room.

The Furian triggers in people tend to vary.   I can't honestly ever say, I've seen fire trigger it before though.

I know one thing, Furian mode is rather intense and it's not the sweet loving Yes Sir, No Sir D/s mode many people enjoy.   So, yeah... it's a bit of a test when dealing with somebody in this mode.   Just roll with it, they can't stay furian mode forever you know.

Honestly, for me I learned much about some deep seated angry issues of hers while she was in this mode.   We have talked sanely later about all this, she is aware of these things as being deep seated issues.   So in a sense, I get to see another side to her while she was in her wild animal states.

Not with fire play. Maybe rough body play or some kind of take down thing.

I'm in agreement with June. It's not, necessarily, fire play which turns me primal, it's the energy of the moment and that may or may not include fire.

My boy actually found fireplay fairly dull. It's just a bit of heat. Since he trusts me, there isn't the fear factor. The only thing he "gets" out of fireplay is the joy of having given me something I want. (It's always nice to have activities that are JUST for you. . *grins*) I get primal reactions out of toy when we do heavy pain play. Then he starts with the vocalizations and punching the wall.

See, I too have a primal place that I go to when I engage in a heavy pain scene. Fire? Not so much. As a masochist, fire just doesn't do anything for me, other than feeding my exhibitionist streak as it always draws a crowd at parties. Heh, that works too.

i'm not into heavy pain at all, it makes me recoil and want to close myself off. i find when i tend to get feral is when i'm feeling way over the top extremely emotional...so maybe a little intimate emotional "pain" is what sets me off in that regard. i don't mean cruel emotional pain, i mean very intense emotions.

the feral thing....to me it would be cathartic in a way. to be able to lash out and fight and "get and let it all out", but with no desire to injure or disrespect him in any way. and in the end, to be overpowered and taken and then soothed by him ....i can't tell you what that would do for me both physically and emotionally. this is something that would be very bonding i think.

Sweetie, its not just them that go feral..lol
To the op, I've never done fire play so I don't know if that would take a normally "unanimalistic" person and run them feral.
In my house, all I have to do is growl at mine to get a similar response.

I had one subject go "primal" once during a fire play session. I wasn't expecting it, and seriously it was disturbing for me. Lots of crying and squealing and it was like someone shut a switch off....nearly catatonic for about 5-minutes. Up til now, I have thought of her as a drama princess. So I'm interested in reading other's posts on this altered state as well.
