After lurking around on the boards for a few weeks, finally gotten up the gumption to actually write up a letter of introduction. I prefer to lurk about until I get familiar with the area, and I guess I've become familiar enough with everything to say hello.

What to say about me...I'm insane, that much is true. I'm pretty off the wall. Most people would say I was quiet, but that's quite misleading. I'm quiet in a situation until I get familiar with it enough that I can talk without feeling ackward. Then the common complaint is "Siren, SHUT UP! YOU TALK TOO MUCH!" *grins*

I'm into alot of stuff. People would say I'm a geek, but that's merely what I want people to think *grins* Don't let the glasses fool you, Siren's no docile nethead. At one time in my life I was a political activist (always writing to our officials about something that was bothering her), an enviromentalists, an animal rights activist and a human rights activist. Now I'm alot quieter, but am quick to speak up for pagan rights and defend gays/lesbians/bi's. Bit of a history buff (know quite a bit about history, so if you'd like to talk about history, drop me a line). I have a variety of interests-anime, bondage, psychology, clothing, goth interests, some roleplay interests, science fiction, some politics/ Alot more, but this box probably isn't big enough to house all my interests.

Don't let my journal entries or some of my profile updates scare you off. I tend to come across bitchy, even when I'm not. I'm actually quite friendly, just have my moods at times. Eh...don't we all.

Well, anyhow, enough jabbering.

From one geek to another, welcome to the site. The forums get pretty addicting here, but everyone seems to have a great attitude about sharing thoughts and ideas, including (especially?) political matters and such. Your journal doesn't seem any more or less rantish then everyone elses, and I have a feeling you'll fit right in here. Enjoy yourself, and feel free to drop a line!

Welcome to the (dysfunctional) family!

Stephan

Dear zombiegurlsos,

In the future, I suggest that you click the profile pic of the old intros that interest you and write them directly so they actually get your communication. Allow me to explain...

Your enthusiasm was misspent replying to all those out of date introductions. No one from 2004 is checking their intro post 11 years later. You aren't actually succeeding in reaching the party you are replying to. Email them directly instead.

You aren't gaining favor or making friends with the rest of us. By spamming 18 or 20 necros (reviving old threads) in the intro section, those threads now go to the top because of your fresh reply. Every one else can't see the actual new introductions on the first page anymore. You have blocked their view with a plethora of necros. We all have to flip back a few pages and making the forums harder for everyone else to use is annoying.

So welcome to the forums. I hope this information is useful and helps you use the forums more effectively, avoid annoying conduct and make new friends.

Best wishes,
Kalon Eric
