LOL. It's a world of folks, and plenty of them are obnoxious. Tell them off, or ignore them. And take careful notes for what you don't want in your own relationships! Also, don't sit at the same table as the obnoxious ones next time. Yes, I know they are loud and voices carry.

At a munch you get what comes in. The only thing to do is lead by example. My munches are very friendly, boisterous, non threatening, and if people want to be calm, demure, shy, ect, they can sit and watch. Oddly enough, most of those people return next time and are more likely to step forward a bit and become a tad more social. I do not regard demure as sub, nor do I think that being boisterous makes one dom. People are people and act as humans do. Their sensual dynamic means nothing to me unless I am getting naked before them. And if someone wants to call themselves a slave, so be it. If I doubt it, my eyes may roll back a bit, but then it is time to move on. Why would I want to focus on something that means nothing in my world? They can be slave, sub, switch, dom, or bunny, and I say great! I hope that works for them. If people want to label themselves as anything it only matters to whoever they live with. Personally, I enjoy the title, Mistress of the Dark... Sadly, it was taken. Kyst

MissAidan, I believe I hear you loud and clear. And, if I hear you, what you are saying is this: You probably never would have questioned her chosen name for herself. You have never appeared to me to be someone who makes attempts to label others in that way, but, rather, just allows people to label themselves. Just like Miss Manners says you should :) This person got your goat because she was espousing the 'one true way', how she was the only real twue submissive. It's like, I don't pick on peoples religion much. I don't have a narrow definition of Christianity, or any other religion. But when someone who goes about labeling everyone else as heathen acts a certain, hethenish way, you just can't help but point it out. Personally, I think you showed admirable restraint. Once someone else had done the work for me of actually rudely pointing out how unslavelike she truly was, and got her on a rant about all the deeply slavish ways she acts and lives, I personally would not have been able to resist goading her on. "Do you sleep chained to the bed?" "Do you ask to go to the potty?" "Do you kneel when you bring him a drink? Oh, wait - you don't get his drinks, do you?"I know she just would have smugly said 'Of course' to everything she does do, and explained how anything she doesn't do - like kneel when she brings him a drink - is something no real twue sub would ever do, but it would have been such fun to watch her back herself into that corner. And, what does it mean that switches are fake? fake what? I am not in the least switch - sorry, not a Dom bone in my body - but I truly don't get the comment. That's like saying an airplane is a fake car. You are a switch. It is what you are. I guess if you met some nice guy on here - sub or Dom - who was uninterested in switches (I know some people have that as a limit) and you hid from him that you were switch, then one might view you as a 'fake' - sub or Domme, whichever.
