I actually got blocked by somechick on the other side... simple misunderstanding via cmail... she went ballistic on me... when I tried to apologize..she'd blocked me... snotty little twit..lol

I haven't hidden any posters but by accident earlier today I clicked on the 51-75 answer in this survey so i hope i didn't mess up the results....at the time was thinking of the men in my local list i have hidden because i get tired of seeing their profiles when i logged in for various reasons...oops! I haven't hidden anyone on either side, and I only had one idiot long time ago on block on the other side. There I have come to prefer watching them email and me delete unread till they give up being an ass(and that doesn't happen often, suprisingly enough with the attitudes I know I can have). On this side, there are posters I skim because statistically, I do not read their posts but I have noone hidden. I do tend to avoid total threads at times when certain ops/subject combinations exist. I find it helps my blood pressure. Other times I know I'm in for huge entertainment on that thread.

In the year I have been a poster here, I only ever blocked one person. We were disagreeing so strongly that I felt it best to do so for my own peace of mind. This lasted about two days until I couldn't stand not seeing what that person wrote[:D], so I "unblocked" them so I could continue to read. The disagreeing continued until, at one point, she sent me a very polite email which really humbled me. I apologized with all sincerity and saw her in a different light. I never said a harsh word back to her again and never had to block her posts anymore. There have been three or four others that have really made me want to gag with their nonsense since then but I have never blocked them. I'm not going to let some ninny have that much power over how I feel plus I'm simply too nosy[8D]..........................luci

I haven't blocked anyone on the boards ever. There have been a few that I felt needed blocking with an anvil to the head or something, but never did it. The people I find disagreeable on here, I tend to ignore for the most part. If they irk me to the point of addressing them or their idiocy, I try to do so by writing an intelligent post that smacks them down in a way that leaves them wondering what has just happened. There have been some people who I felt needed to be vaporized, and by luck, chance, Mod, or whatever means it was, they have gone "poof." There is justice at times. [;)]

Dagnabbit, I lied before, there WAS one guy that I blocked, before he vaporized......he made some seriously grossout comments. Or comments that seriously grossed me out? One of those. Bleh.

i blocked someone the first time i posted, and i got scolded too! No idea what i said or what she said now. LOL. All i know is I have a very low tolerance for anyone that strikes me at being mentally 14 when they are claiming to be a grown-up.

That's my preferred tactic as well, particularly in Off Topic... sometimes, you just know you're going to feel brain cells dying off if you click on a post. i don't bother hiding anyone, though... i don't offend easily, and both enlightenment and entertainment can come from the most unlikely places sometimes...

I'm not sure what posters mean? If it's those that continue to make contact to your profile when you've asked them not to. Particularly those from OS who want to relocate ... or those (omg i'm saying this) that are under 30 when the profile specifies at least 40 (i'm well over 40). I try the ignoring them strategy for a while ...but when it doesn't work I block (i think it's about 5) ... and i've not been on here that long ...

OK, thinkin about blocking someone on the other side... but it was kinda entertaining for a few minutes (see my journal..LOL). I may leave him unblocked. just to see what else (if anything) he spews.
