That sounds absolutely perfect!

Good luck with your project, and make sure to post pictures of the skirt when you're done!  I admit that I have a weakness for sewing projects, and I love seeing what other people make.

3,2,1...........and what about making a whip carrier or purse?  :)  Good luck!

Never thought of that to be honest. Thank for the ideas.

The question really depends on:
your experience
the design of the individual garments
your choice of fabrics

In my own opinion, the cape is the easiest, even reversible. But if you're using a particular pattern, for example something like the British nurse's cape with placketed slits, then the matter gets harder fast. Kinsale cloaks are a bitch and a half even done one-sided (and so damn wasteful, too). However, it's no great trick to make a double-sided (and thus reversible) cloak with or without hood...but I never use a pattern, just my own design. One of which I actually taught someone a decade back by online chat and she made it successfully, so the question of "easy" isn't merely my own thinking.

Delilah Deb
