Edited to add: What's wrong with Battleship Potemkin? Not that I remember much of it, nor am I gonna run out to rent it... ok, I admit, I saw it once in a film class, undergrad...there was some reason the professor showed it...can't remember all those film-y terms...Whatever...

I don't think Contact is underappreciated, MNN - its one of my favourite movies. I'll watch it any time I can. I'm something of a Jodie Foster fan, going all the way back to "The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane". Talk about a sick movie with Martin Sheen.
 
Or another Martin Sheen movie called "Sweet Hostage". I think what this thread has brought out that while we may think we're the only person to like a movie, there's more of us who do like it than we realize. [:D]
