Out of curiosity, does anybody know how many prisoners in Guantanamo or the US have the first name Mohammed?

Out of curiousity.... Are you trying to differentiate those from a "traditional" Islamic background from those with a Malcolm-X background?

That is an excellent question, and one I didn't consider. I was just thinking one's name as evidence enough.

since it is a state secret to protect us from terrorism, we don't know who the fuck is in Gitmo, let alone their names or crimes or reasons being held, but the guys all kinda got together and we nicknamed all of 'em mohammed.

Evidence of guilt--I'm being a little facetious here. But just a little.

It's something that came up in conversation earlier. I AM genuinely curious as to the stat, but let's face it, the data is not available.

You don't need to know. It's all good. The government will protect you.

And don't change your name unless you're a woman taking your husband's. Unless it brands you an enemy of the state.

Prisoners with the name Mohammed incarcerated in the US penal system - over 1000

In Guantanamo - none (theyre illegal combatants remember? Prisoners have some rights)

For the former Cassius Clay. Mark one up on the Malcolm-X list.

quote:

In 1984, Ali discovered he had Parkinson's disease, a neurological syndrome characterized by tremors, rigidity of muscles and slowness of speech and movement, following which his motor functions began a slow decline. Although Ali's doctors disagreed about whether his symptoms were caused by boxing and whether or not his condition was degenerative, he was ultimately diagnosed with Pugilistic Parkinson's syndrome.[13] According to the documentary When We Were Kings, when Ali was asked about whether he has any regrets about boxing due to his disability, he responded that if he didn't box he would still be a painter in Louisville, Kentucky.
