A Scottsman went to his first baseball game. He did not know the rules.
The first batter got a single and the crowd yelled "Run". He figured he
had the cheering figured out.
The second batter grounded to short and the Scotsman was oblivious of
the stares when he jumped and yelled, "Run!"
Then the third batter got a walk. As he was walking to first the
Scotsman got up and yelled "Run, Ladie, run!"
The guy next to him explain that batter could walk to first base.
"Why?" asked the Scott.
"He has four balls," was the reply.
The Scott revised his cheer to "Walk with pride, Laddie!”
In a separate joke, What do you do with an elephant with three balls? Walk him and pitch to the giraffe.
