Quebec City police say the 63-year-old man blew a gasket when a snow-removal worker blew snow into his yard Sunday after a record-breaking fall of the white stuff over the weekend. “It was a storm, alright, a storm in the extreme,” said Quebec City Const. Catherine Viel. “He blew a fuse. We’ve never seen anything like that.” Police charged a 63-year-old man with negligent use of a firearm. Officers seized 13 firearms from the gun collector. He was released after promising to appear in court in coming weeks. Police say the man started yelling and banging on the tractor door of the snowblower being driven by the 25-year-old woman. She apologized, but police say the man fetched the shotgun and cocked it in front of her. She called the police. Quebec City has received 460 centimetres of snow this winter, breaking a 45-year-old record. “Four-hundred and sixty centimetres of snow, and the guns come out,” Viel said. The officer said fights occasionally break out over snow removal but nobody could remember a gun being involved. “It’s a first,” she said. Probably married to that crank from New Brunswick...
