Status: offline 		I hate it when I'm in the grocery store last night with Christine and she asks me if her chest got sunburned like her arm did, and I turn to look at her chest   and crash the grocery cart into a display case.

Status: offline 		I hate it that it obvious some of the meds in the hospital (poen suspects the steriods so Im going with that, my vision is blurred, kinda noticed it a bit at the hospital but wasnt aiming for any distance further than the tv, which half the time was off or I wasnt paying attention to it.

I will be glad when all this is so totally past.

That is my least favorite side effect.
You might want to contact the Dr just to make sure it isn't because the steroid has raised your blood sugar -- as it can do that and that can cause blurred vision --but in my case, the steroid changes the amount of fluid in the lenses of my eyes: thereby completely changing the refraction.
(In my case, it has returned to what it was before but it takes awhile.)

Yes they were checking my sugars in the hospital before every meals, most were in the normal range but a couple of times it went over what the over point was.

I just have to step down on the prednisone and should all go back to normal. I was aware of the blood sugar but didnt realize it could cause blurred vision..

I do have a follow up but having just got here didnt have a primary dr so they made an appointment but will follow Poens guide on Dr, I hope to just use the same ones she does.

And with her being very diabetic I know she will kick into gear and get that followup asap for me.

Other than that I feel dandy for the most part, just taking it easy till I get my sea legs back and past the necessary meds for the full recovery.

Status: offline 		I ended up going to the opthamalogist.
For me, even though I am diabetic, it was not the higher sugars that made my vision blurry.
(He told me he would have been able to see sugar clouding up my lenses.)
It was that the prednisone changed the amount of fluid in the lenses of both eyes which altered my refraction (almost like waking up with the the wrong contact lens prescription in).

It does suck.
It will get better.

I am so glad you are home.
