ORIGINAL: GoddessImaginos ~HUGS greedy and greedy's dad's s.o. and chell~ Sending warm pink healing love and light to all of you, and extra for anyone else who wanders in and would like some; there's plenty.. I hate it that I am typing this mostly one-handed because I am tending an injured orphan squirrel whose prognosis is questionable to poor. He has been in our care since he was about four weeks old, and has somehow sustained an infection that was gotten from a cat bite - that happened in an attack from another rescue critter after he got here because I turned away to speak to someone and wasn't being careful enough - which means that if he dies, it's My fault. Colourful Invective of the Day: *FUCK* i hate to tell you this...but you are in serious trouble. I strongly suggest you call a vet and explain the situation..then arm yourself with the vets advice and get your ass to a doctor NOW!!! I cannot emphasize enough that you need medical care ASAP...wound cleaning and antibiotics. Holly. . . I think that she is one-handed not because SHE was bit, but because she is cuddling the squirrel that was bit. But, yes, if SHE was bit I would say to go get a rabies shot. What Aylee said. We do this sort of thing professionally, and are educated and licensed by the state to do so, so yeah, I have to say I'd have already long since had Myself looked at if the bite were Mine. We just had our first scare with a client recently, a nice schoolteacher lady from a neighboring town who picked up an injured squirrel (not My squirrel) out of her yard and was bitten. The creature was already dead by the time we got there, and as per the law, We took the body to our local animal shelter for testing. Red flags went up on that immediately, and not half an hour after We dropped it off, they were on the phone to the teacher asking her to come to the emergency room for her first shot. She'll be alright, thank the Gods. Did you know they have a rabies vaccine for humans now? It's new, and very expensive, but the Counterpart and I will probably be having those done when our taxes come in after the New Year. Thank you all for your concern, seriously. Love and Peace.
