That's one thing I've never done.  The closest I've come was when I was on my serger and was having to press the fabric into the foot (it was a very thick gathered waistband) and my finger got sliced by the blades.

Considering that Barbie has been a scientist, an astronaut, a doctor, Air Force jet pilot, president, and paleontologist. . . just to name a FEW out of over 90 careers. . . I really have NO problem with Barbie. 

I do have a problem with the kids on commercials always wanting such sex-stereotyped toys.  Little girl wants a doll house with ALL the furniture and little boy wants a car or telescope. 

The toys are "color-coded" also. 

It is like they are trying to force children to be something while at the same time saying, "You can be anything you want."  When what they are really saying is, "You can be anything you want as long as you choose from this approved list."

Fuckers.

I am always amazed at this still going on in this day & age.  I was amazed when I was 5 & wanted a train set for Christmas & my Father told me that trains were for little boys.  And then he was amazed when I graduated from high school & he told me I should become an engineer like him--metallurgical, not train--and I told him that girls could only be nurses or teachers.  What the heck did he expect?????

Add to thread - I hate it when my built in inter net card fails and I have to buy a USB dongle to be on line. Plus they try to sell me a $150 repair and upgade for my system when I can buy a brand new laptop for less than $300.
