I have a different perspective, since I'm in the last third of my life, but this whole American "gotta accomplish shit" is generally counterproductive in terms of fulfillment. A German woman I met here said that it was very sad walking around where she lived because there were all these beautiful houses, and nobody in them. They were all out working so they could afford the houses they didn't really live in.
