i used to live in western sydney, it was the first place in the world outside of north america, to get a krispy kreme. i think NSW has 3 of them, victoria has 1 or 2 and south australia 0. (these are 3 of the 7 states in Australia) map of australia. people don't know or keep forgetting that aus is roughly the size of the u.s. with it's bits and pieces tucked in. we're talking BIG!

australia has a history of introducing non-native animals and plants and conditions being ideal for them to then explode in population and eradicate native species and create all sorts of ecological havoc.

we've gotten smarter (sometimes) in recent years. the cane toads being one notable exception. we HAVE managed to keep rabies out of the country though!

i have a feeling, hamsters (like foxes who were also imported for "the hunt") are one of those species that would do spectacularly well in australian conditions when people started releasing them into the wild when they were tired of them.

and yes please with the pic!

Status: offline 		  I looked too and couldn't find anything that my hair would do reasonably. So it's plain old long hair for me still.  Hopefully you'll find a good style you like. You've got gorgeous hair so that shouldn't be a problem!

Status: offline 		Oh yeah, and last night she ran full speed into the wall with the side of her face.  Bounced her back about 3 feet, now she's got a lump and a nice purple eye.  Poor kid.  She was so good though, laying in my recliner with the bag of frozen peas on her face, looking so sad and so pathetic.

Status: offline 		  I've had several run-ins with illness. One of the worst was a bad case of spinal meningitis with my oldest 10 years ago. That is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy....  Both he and I were in isolation once it was diagnosed because I'd been exposed to him for several days caring for him. We were there a week.   Good news is that he came out of it just fine. But it was a long haul.
