Okay, back at work. Went to the courthouse and filed the proof of service on the restraining order. Then went to the police station for the town I work in (very handy, right across the street from the courthouse) and sat with a detective from the Domestic Violence Unit who wrote up the restraining order violations from last night. While sitting there, the ex sent me a text. Classic! The detective tried to call him but he didn't answer. He said one more text and he would arrest him. In the meantime, he is sending the report to the District Attorney and asking for prosecution. From there, went to the Sheriff's Office (again, very handy, right across the street), to give them a copy of the proof of service. They maintain the master database on restraining orders throughout the county. From there, went to the Police Department for the city I live in (basically a suburb of the other city). They took copies of everything as well and while I was waiting for them to assign me a case number for the registration of the order, a police officer that has known me and the ex for about 6 years walked by and we stood there and talked for 20 minutes. He said it's only a matter of time, and that he thinks the ex NEEDS to spend a couple days in jail as a wake-up call (funny, the other detective said the exact same thing). Cali
