I had a guy bitch at me yesterday at work.  He said he wasn't going to pay the fees he owed.  I said, "That's certainly your choice, but in 14 days, a Summons will go out, the Sheriff's Office will serve you, and 10 days after that, you can explain to the judge why you didn't pay."  He laughed and said, "Yeah right."  I looked him dead in the face and said, "Look, I don't care if you pay it or not, personally.  I'll still go home at night, come back the next day."  He said, "Where's the attorney?  I wanna talk to her."  I said, "She had 2 cases on the 10:00 a.m. docket.  Both of the people went to jail last week for failure to pay their fees and they're trying to make payment today so they can get out."  He got all white in the face, turned around, and walked out the door.  Funny thing was... I wasn't kidding.  Nine days in the pokey can change that hardcore attitude into blubbering pile of snot.

Status: offline 		some bloody muppet has parked in such a way that I'm going to have to pull my side mirror in against the door to get out of here tonight...  and whoever checked this person in didnt issue a parking pass, so I have no way of finding out who it is to call them and ask them to LEARN HOW TO PARK!!

we employ casuals mostly, even though they're long term (years and years often). but as they work unsupervised, we're not officially allowed to give them references. we CAN say that we've never had a client complaint, or that clients "seem or appear" to like their standard of work, and how long they've worked and what they do.
also, we do PDR's (performance development reviews) and they generally get a copy of that. I'd think , as long as it was positive, it'd be nearly as good as a reference. do you get these done where you work? can you get a copy?
