i hate that the ahem 'toy' i bought He says is no good. i hate that all this time i've felt like there was something wrong with me cause it did nothing for me and after using it for about five seconds he told me to stop, set it down, and said it sucked.....WTF..... i think (although i'm not sure) that i hate the fact that He said He had some better toys...WTF??!!!

Status: offline 		I hate that I go away for a couple hours to make dinner and watch some football, and end up sooooo far behind!  LOL  I think I'm going to have to put up a webpage of the toys that I reccommend highly.  Of course, at the top of the list is the slender tulip wand.  They have a curved version as well that is an awesome g-spot vibe from everything I've ever heard about it (not having a g-spot, per se, I can't personally vouch for it), but, after selling them, and having customers come back a couple days later all wide eyed and saying "OH MY GOD!", as well as just the logical shape and size of it, I would probably say "Yeah, good choice on it." ;)

Status: offline 		Awww, Kali.  Go on down to a nice adult store.  Well lit, good selection, friendly and knowledgable staff, and talk with them, that's why they're there.  Most people working there love their jobs, I know I did.  I miss it.  Would still be there if the manager and I hadn't had a difference of opinion about what was more important.  But that's a separate issue.  They'll be happy to help you find things that you might like.  Don't be shy either, remember, they're just that, toys.  The only difference is where one puts them.  And around here, who knows what people do with legos and care bears.  One of those things I don't think I want to know either. 

And books, books galore!  An old classic, Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Sex*   (But were afraid to ask).  A bit out of date, but very good.   Also "Real Sex For Real Women", "Secrets of Sexually Satisfied Women", and "Naugty Tricks and Sexy Tips (A Couples Guide To Uninhibited Erotic Pleasure)", are all excellent places to start I think.  The first one, Everything You Ever Wanted..., the physiology and history are still relevant, if the science behind what we know about STDs has changed since then.

Again though, a good 'toy store' can be a great place to have fun and learn.  Sex is pleasurable and should be fun, that's why these stores are there, to help you have fun.

I used to sell the toys, books, and romantic items at in-home parties.  I learned a ton about what each things did for particular parts of the anatomy, and was always more than willing to explain things to other women who may not know exactly what would feel the best in or on their bodies.  I never ever laughed at any question, and can tell you that from buying things at "naughty shops" for many years, no one has ever laughed AT my questions.  We have, of course, laughed at the sounds the toys make while sitting on the glass case, or whatever, but it's really all good.  I've taken several girls in my nilla days to the toy store for their first time.  The funniest one was a gal who called her hubby as soon as she got out to the car and said, "This place was crazy.  People were just walking around, looking at things like they were shopping at Walmart."  (which was hysterical, but also very true)

Red, one of my favorite things to do, to put people at ease, was to grab one of the most absurd, floppy toys we had, hold it to my forehead and yell "I'M A UNICORN!", then hand it to them, grinning from ear to ear.  It would break the ice and have them going from sneaking around the store all embarrassed, to laughing their butts off.

Status: offline 		I have made solo forays into toy stores just in the last couple of years.  I have a great time with the people who work in them, most of whom are guys.  It's a little intimidating at first to be 60-something & buying my first butt-plug, but the young man--I wanted to check *his* id--who helped me with my selection had a wonderful time assisting me with my selection.  It's so relaxed in there & just a lot of fun going on.  If I could be on my feet for a whole shift, I'd consider working in one myself.  But would you buy a dildo from Granny???

I love it!!!  I would fall out laughing.

My next door neighbor had a toy party last year and the rep was pretty new, and there were a couple dozen women there, so it was a little intimidating.  The women were loud and some would squick when they saw certain products and get all prim and say, "That is just wrong."  It really knocked the wind outta the rep's sails, so when the group was looking at something that was being passed around, I told the girl that I used to sell the stuff, too, and knew how to deal with some of the women who were being snarky and/or drunk.  She trusted me and went on with her demo.  Every single thing she showed that had potential *squirm/uber-kink* response, I would smile and say, "OMG... I have that one at home, it is so sexy to stick that thing in/on your _____.  It'll make your toes curl every time."  It was cute because a lot of them started marking down the "perverted" toys on their wish list.  =)
