Linnaea, I was on a weddings forum for our wedding and was shocked at how common it now is for people to not RSVP. I thought it might just be who we had invited or maybe a "local" thing since I was 2300 miles from where I'd grown up but no, it's the common thing now.

Eh, I am who I am and I'll keep RSVP'ing. Like you, I let Greedy and Pirate know early on that we can't make it.

I sooooo want to go but we can't for a couple of reasons. Money, time off work, passports, Daddy's um, ok, so that's more than a couple - I never claimed to be able to count!

Just curious, as I always answer RSVPs as soon as I know. Anymore, I do have to add: "barring illness of Butterhead," but I think that most people realize that.

In the case of this wedding, not only do they run the risk of having to pay much more for their rooms..but that the caterers MOI, Gwyn and Tulip shall not have either enough food (not likely as we are all over cookers) but that if they have food allergies they will starve. The main is NOT to stress the Bride <evil grin> and they have 1 easy method of letting us know if they are going to be there even if tentatively..if they have to cancel because they can't get time off or for some reason..np..but I would rather over plan than under plan. But dropping a note to me on Cmail ain't all that hard.

i hate that i feel so full of hate right now. i hate that some part of me hopes i'm asleep before He gets home. i hate when the cat is cracking me the hell up (NOTE TO RED: i was not talking about you there...It's a much different kind of crack than you use..Ya crack witch!! ) and i try to call Him to tell Him and He doesn't answer cause His phone is still freaking on vibrate. i hate that i really feel like my automatic responses to some of the people's seeminly dumb ass threads on here make me want to say stuff that would get me moded.
i hate that i haven't checked my voicemail at work all week and i'm afraid when i open the door to my office tomorrow instead of a red blinking light it just might harm me.....
i hate that the skanky crack witch that i highered (who i convinced my supervisor yesterday not to fire due to excessive abscenses (sp?) ) called in sick today. i hate even more that we are going to fire her tomorrow morning, which means i am going to have to work again this saturday...
i hate it when i just don't feel like myself......and yet....i don't feel like anyone else either..

Damn Greedy, i must need sleep or something....i read that several times trying to figure out A). How you would eat a gyno and B). What you would get heartburn from in eating a gyno.

Oh man Greedy, I have been thinking about Gyro's (minus the pita bread), yummmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I made some of that sauce last Sunday, turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Yep. While terribly bad manners, many people do not feel the need to reply. My niece's wedding a few months ago was a prime example. My old co-workers at the bridal salon still tell me that the brides feel like the RSVP cards, complete with pre-stamped, return envelopes are a huge waste of money.

Sad, but it seems people think this kind of thing isn't that big a deal. *sigh*

Some of my old clients used to tell me that eloping would be less stressful and probably more fun. (at times, I think they were probably right)
