I just need to move away. Far enough away that taking a pass on a family function won't cause WW3. In my post-Xmas delirium, I forgot that we have to do it all over again on Sunday for my sister's kids that were away with her ex on Xmas.

Just shoot me. Enough to wound me, not enough to kill me, but enough that would give me a pass on Sunday. Oh wait, hell, you might have to nick an artery so that I could stay in the hospital until after Sunday. Please. Remember, just a flesh wound.

Edited to add: Oh shit, I was just informed that it's not THIS Sunday, but NEXT Sunday. I have a whole week to dread it. Great, just great.

I hate it that when I go to drain the potatoes on Christmas for mashed tatties the collander doesnt hold all of the water, and about 40% of the steaming hot boiling water ends up on my Left hand.

I hated sitting with alternating ice packs, bags for frozen fruit, and corn on the cob for hours waiting for the heat to be drawn out of the well cooked flesh.

I hated trying to move and stretch the boiled skin under the ice water so it would seize up or crack later on.

I do love it that due to the care and dilligence of my Soft that a potential 2nd to 3rd degree burn turned out to be 1st degree due to her swift measures. I love it that she finished making dinner for us while I sat there rocking and cursing.

I hate it that the x-mas nookie had to wait a few hours longer then I liked. But thank God I was healed enough to do it at all.

I hate it when I have something really good that is not half baked opinion only to have something happen that not oly prevents me from making a well thought out post, but forces me to reset the entire network of mistress and master's household.
Would really like to know what causes an entire network to go offline?

The main culpirt for a network to go down is minor power surges ~ some the human eyes can not even detect by a dimming of the lights or cycling down of electronics. Both modems, and routers are built with a kill switch that at the slightest surge up or down it will shut the device off for a second to prevent it from being damaged.

Some modems are more touchy then others. If you have an RCA modem chuck it out with the garbage. ( Damn I hate those blasted things)

As you know just shut down all the pc's, the modem, and the router. Bring back up the modem, wait for 2 mins, then the router wait for 2-3 mins, then the pc's.

Yep.. I got my big girl panties on. *chuckles*

I knew they would do the same damn thing at the hospital.. and I have the same damn burn gel in my cabinet that they would use on it.. So why bother? We just so happened to use frozen beggies and fruit in ziplocs since ice was no where to be had. LOL

It is about 98% healed to normal at this point.

Thank the Gods I heal so quickly.

Now if only I could get rid of these damn re-occuring Shingles I would be a happy girl.

PS I gotta agree w/ ya, nothing makes a better ice pack than frozen veggies or fruit...
the other day I used a package of frozen bolgna,

PSS I hate it when "people" get depressed during the holidays...

Working on the ambulance for 6 years and the hospital, staff flat out told people to use frozen peas, they were the best ice packs you could buy. As long as they aren't one big frozen lump, they form around your body part, getting the cold to where it needs to go.

Frozen veggies and fruit sounds good to me. Have a smoothie when yer done with it!

Aren’t you supposed to put a towel between the frozen object and body part to prevent frostbite. People tell me things and 70% of it isn't true.
