Ive definatly learned car repair 101, when i bought my first jeep cj7, i got into it, but now...lol... i pretend to play lil miss no clue when it comes to any slight maintance problems.

I hate it when I don't think about needing a carrier to take Miles Davis to the vet until 5 minutes before I'm about to leave with him.

I hate it when there isn't enough water in the reservoir of the Bunn coffeemaker so I guesstimate & end up with too much water & weak coffee!

i do that all the damn time, my docs and my doggies docs all know ill be 15 minutes late.... they now schedule that in and tell me the wrong time ;) no kidding

Linnaea, I've ended up wrapping a kitteh in a towel and carrying them when necessary.

And don't feel bad about weak-ass coffee. I shattered our coffee pot this morning.....

I'll have to wrap him after we get there, since I have to drive him myself. The neighbor has a carrier but it was last used to transport her cat whose abcess had exploded & I don't want to have to worry about those germy's. I've taken cats in without carriers also. One time I took a kitteh to the vet just carrying him & as we passed the entrance to the dog side, a huge dog came bounding out & the cat crawled up my face, lacerating my nose in the process.

Since I have a Bunn coffeemaker & generic replacement carafes don't fit, I bought a spare a few years ago for just such an emergency.

We had a Braun, no replacement carafe. Thank goodness we got one as a wedding gift so I hauled it out at 530 am to clean it out and use it. It ain't fancy but it worked. Daddy had his coffee on time.....

(And maybe Miles will love being in the car. I had a cat that absolutely adored going for drives and would hop in the car anytime I opened the door. Freaked a few people out to see Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr (the cat!) laying on the dashboard of my van.

I raised a kitten on the truck. Every time I put her in her carrier, we went someplace more fun, so she was always eager to get in it. Sorta astounded my daughter the first time I went to put her in the carrier at home & she offered to help. I opened the door, called her & she walked right in!! The other funny thing was when I would bring her home, the first few minutes on stable floors, she would kind of stagger around. LOL

Yay for the spare coffeemaker!! I get quite testy if I don't get coffee. We addicts are like that, yanno.

My mom took her cat on the road with her when she was driving long-haul. Took her cat AND dog. Apparently it's getting quite common to have pets on the road with you. I've also known drivers that took their ferrets with them. I think Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr would have had a blast on the road. He never met a stranger, just ran into new friends.

I wish people would just grow the fuck up and not bother others with such stupid shit as racial and sexual slurs and things.

Is there any art therapy groups around you? That might help her... and give her an outlet at home ( art) when she is feeling really bad and wants to cut.

It would give her something to focus on instead of hearing them over and over say the nasty things.

I have known a lot of cutters and it has always ( ok most of the time) helped them. If they can reconize their feelings they can head it off by doing something creative that feels good.
