I love it that my overnight ordeal in the ER is over & I am ensconced in a fairly nice-ish hotel for the duration & everybody at my company is being very kind. I love it that the diagnosis was pretty much what I would have thought: Bonk on the noggin. Or for those medical jargon purists: Scalp hematoma. See, what happened was, I was pulling the tandem pins when the tool slipped off the handle & I kept pulling hard & landed on my butt & my head on the pavement. Now, normally that wouldn't really bother me that much, since I'm Norwegian, but this time a big old lump started growing & Daddy told me I had to be seen. I called the company, then called a cab & the cab said leave a message & they'd get back to me. So then I called 911. Then things started getting exciting, even though I told the dispatcher I didn't think it was really THAT big of an emergency, I just needed a ride to the hospital. I learned last night that if you fall & want to be seen for the big knot on your head, don't ever, ever mention that your neck hurts too. They will slap a huge c-collar on you & bind you to a back board before you can even say, "Hey!! I reserve that kinky shit for my Daddy!" Not even my protests that it really made everything hurt much worse did anything to get them to back off. And so I am off to bed now for some much-deserved sleep. Unfortunately, in my rush to grab everything I needed from the truck while the cab was waiting I forgot the Tylenol. YOWTCH!!!!!
