I love it when I don't think I'm going to be able to go to my niece's wedding this evening because of the gas expense to get there, and one of my best gal pals calls last night and says, "Meet me at Sheetz near my house." I ask why and she says, "Just do it, please. I really need you." So, I go, knowing I barely have the gas to go round trip, but she says she needs me. I get there, and she says, "Pull up to the pump, next to me." I do, although puzzled. She takes out her card and proceeds to put $75.00 gas in my van. I look at her and cry. She hugs me and says, "Now, do you have a gift for the wedding yet?" I shook my head "no" and she says, "OK, follow me." I'm so stunned that I just do it. We go to Michael's and get stuff to make a really nice gift and then go to her place and spend the next 3 hours making a beautiful gift and a homemade card/stamp thingie, and she wraps it up so lovely that it looks like something out of a window display. When I asked her why she did this for me, she just smiled and said, "Because you're my best friend and you're worth it." (whereby I proceeded to cry all over again)
To AJ, who will never know that I am writing this, but who knows she's in my heart, "Thank you just isn't enough."
