i love it when i make ppl on opposite sides of the world, who will never meet each other, feel good.
a workmate took the bikkies i mentioned way back when (the oatmeal raisin ones) to a firestation near her. she'd phoned the central dispatch and explained that she wanted one close to her. the dispatch phoned ahead to let them know she was on her way. she got there (and nearly swooned at the 4 gorgeous firemen) and they had big grins for her. they read the card (she explained it wasn't her story, 'cause they thought it was), they put the coffee on and ate bikkies while reading, and were amazed he'd been a fireman so long, and in his memory, they said they'd dedicate the next callout to him.
i just told my brother, and he was so pleased, and pretty amazed that they'd do that for someone they didn't know. i can't wait to tell my mom and her sister.
