I lived in one a few ( ok over 10) years back. It was nice.... I seriously enjoyed it.. all shared in the work, and bringing in funds. It was really nice. With that many hands it made cleaning a snap.. and you can afford a really nice house if you have enough people paying into the pot. Meal time is a blast too.

I was the resident cook. Our normal no one over nights I fed about 8-10 people. Some nights it would be 30 depending on what was going on. We were the hub for all of our friends.. and every one came over to the house often. We had a huge back yard, and it was wooded. Folks who wanted to spend the weekend and hang out would bring thier tents and camp out there.

I would love to have that again.

It does take a firm, level headed leader to pull it off.. but it is great.

Status: offline 		I love it when, on a wing and a prayer, I'm going to take the Things out tonight.  They have agreed on a movie at the older theatre where tickets are a lot cheaper.  I just need to do something for "us" because they are really trying to do what I ask, their grades have been terrific, and we haven't done a vacation in more than 2 years.  I think one movie night is the least I can do for the three of us.

And my tat is past the ITTTCCHHHH phase, which thankfully only lasted a few hours, and now is doing the grungy crusty thing!

Status: offline 		I love that I didn't fall flat on my face wearing a sari last night.  I love that two years ago my surgeon was checking if I had a will written and now I get everyone tell me how healthy I am looking.

Wanders, I love the color!  How stunning. 

When I got married here in the States, I wore the traditional red and gold sari (wrapped Kandyan style - Sri Lankan city) during the reception and was amazed how the ladies are able to get about in them.  Then a year later, we had a wedding in SL, and I had another one made for the wedding and wore the red one again for the reception over there.  A few years later, at my brother-in-law's wedding, I had one made and wore it Indian style (like yours).  I wore saris at special occasions during my marriage and can still say that they are a bit of a trick to get around in when you're used to taking Amazon size steps and running around at full tilt. 

Gwyn and GT, thankies for the smooches and warm fuzzies.  We saw Eagle Eye and had the best time.  I was really glad to do this for them, us.  It was even better when I asked them earlier what they wanted to do, "A" or "B" - and they both picked going to the movies and agreed on the film to see.  I figured that must have been Divine Intervention and a nod to go because that just never happens.

OH MY GOD!

That is the most beautiful sari I have ever seen. What a royal color. I always had fantasies of showing up to a black tie event wearing a beautiful Sari with my hair in an upsweep. i wish I had the guts but never wore one to a jewish wedding!
