[;)] Yes, holly, THE ticket. One way out to Lumus. On the 4th of July. Talk about ironies.....

yeah....one can only imagine the fireworks and...uh...rockets red glare

*snorts and chokes on her tea before laughing*

Ummmm, I was thinking of the irony of leaving the country on our Independence Day and also giving up (most willingly and happily!) of my independence on that day!  As for fireworks and rockets, errrr, ya, that will be later that night. Maybe. It will be an all day flight for me - I have to be up and out of my house at 430 am to get to the airport in time for the flight then I spend the day flying across the country. I won't get in until sometime between 7-8 pm so I know I'm going to look like death warmed over and be exhausted to boot... *sighs*  Oh well - it's all worth it!

YourDomNow -> RE: I love it when..... (4/16/2008 7:36:58 AM)

congrats Lady...yes, its all worth the time, effort, and energy put into getting there to be with someone.......
I think, sometimes, theres no better feeling then that first moment stepping off a plane,in a different place, knowing someone is there for you...and you for them......its a priceless moment in my book.

Greedy, I am so happy right now, it's not even funny! The hard part is waiting, wanting to be there NOW but having to finish up things here, close up my house, have monsters finish up school, that sort of thing. This is the best thing (and the best person!) to happen to me in years and years. As happy as I am, I'm still a little nervous but so excited and happy that I don't care about the nerves. my guess, LadyRain...you will never ever be as beautiful as when you step off that plane and into his arms.

my suggestion for the flight:  take a small cloth with you in your carry on.  ask the attendants for a cup of cold water, soak the cloth and use it like a compress on your eyes (until the last hour of the flight, then do any makeup adjustments you want, assuming you'll be wearing the stuff).  Stay away from alcoholic/caffeinated beverages, but definitely keep hydrated.  Nap, if you can. DRESS COMFY (and for godssake, make sure your shoes are easy to remove, for the security lines). Make sure your passport is easily accesible. If you're in to it, carry a small sachet type thing with a soothing scent (lavender works for me) for the flight.  Earplugs (if theres a screaming child on flights I've noticed it tends to irritate me no end which in turn affects my attitude overall).  GO TO BED EARLY the night before.  Make sure EVERYTHING is packed except what you need for the morning, and have the last minute stuff ready to go.  DOUBLE check that your carry on stuff (fluids gels etc) are all compliant with TSA regs.
If you take any small electrical device (iPod and such).. do NOT put it in the seatback pocket (reference my post about the delay in ATL..LMAO!!).

I'm sure you know all of this, but if youre floating all happy and stuff, some of it may slip your mind.. (it was my mom that reminded me of half of it, before I left..thank god she did!! LOLOL)

LadyRainfire -> RE: I love it when..... (4/16/2008 8:28:25 AM)

Good idea on the compress, Greedy. I didn't think about that one. I always have some essential oils with me (oh crap - am I going to be able to take them on the plane?!?) that I could use for calming. I always wear slip on shoes when flying because of security and keep things to a minimum. The travel agent told me about the 3-1-1 rule yesterday and no, I didn't see about your delay at ATL. I have almost a 2 hour lay-over there. I had planned on looking into taking several bottles of water that I like with me since all food is now by purchase and I'd heard you can take some on the plane. Makeup-wise, I was thinking of holding off putting any on until Atlanta so I can get the worst of the flight behind me. I know that last time I flew into BWI from Boise, when my friend sent me the pics she took, ohhhhh, did I look horrible coming out of the airport. So I'm going to take some time to freshen up. And pray to all the gods, goddesses, God, deities, whoever, that my skin is in good shape at the time. *laughs*

And yes, I'm floating on air but my mom has never flown before so wouldn't know what to tell me. Not to mention, I won't be telling her about this until just before I leave due to the way she will react. She is not going to be happy to hear I'm moving away.... The rest of the family knows and agrees that she's going to take this badly so I'm holding off for now. Soooooo, can I ask YOU to remind me? *winks*

Do you have a layover at BWI? I'm not too far from there/we could meet for b'fast, lunch or dinner...whichever meal is appropriate during that time!

GreedyTop -> RE: I love it when..... (4/16/2008 8:57:59 AM)

remind me closer to time and I will LOL

The ATL thing was: originally a 4 hr layover.  Delta's inauguaral flight into HEathrow.  All aboard, cabin doors closed.. announcement: "ladies and gentlemen..there has been a threat against this aircraft. please collect your personal belongings and disembark".
2 hrs later I realized I'd left my Shuffle in the seatback pocket.
It was gone (it had been tucked into the 'amenities' bag delta had provided, forgot all about it.. when doing the security check of the plane they had tossed all the bags into the garbage.  Delta pretty much has said I'm fucked on recompensation, although I pointed out that hearing that my flight might have a bomb on board was NOT conducive to immediate rational recollection).

If the oils are in bottles of 3 fl oz or less they should be fine. You won;t be allowed to take bottled water (unless it's 3 fl oz or less).  And I recommend waiting until the last hour before your destination to redo makeup.  use the compress as much as possible before that.  *smooch* I am SOOOOOOOOO happy for you both!

I love it when I wake up with my back still warm from the previous night's session with the cat.

LOL--I have that problem too, but I put them in a different room if we are playing with the other kind of cat *grin*

sirsholly -> RE: I love it when..... (4/16/2008 10:35:02 AM)

our cats just like to sit and watch...with a "humans are weird" look on their faces

LikaLady -> RE: I love it when..... (4/16/2008 10:37:30 AM)

My kittens are 12 weeks old and they think that following the tails of the cat is fun...even if its up and over my red back!
