Hello people, Despite morning disappointment, I'm going to put here my deep love. It is the children of my sister. They are all adults, and I just adore them. One just returned from Eye rack, and he will be here shortly with his sister. I'm including a piece I wrote about them a couple of months ago while I was at my niece's lesbian, tie dye wedding. I'm so proud of them and so honored they still keep me in their hearts despite how fucked up and absent I've been with traveling all around. And you know what? My niece... she's the only one who came to visit me when I was living overseas. I love those kids. I am in my hometown, the place where I grew up. The air is different. I appreciate it in a way that I didn't when I was a teenager. The cornfields and the quiet streets are soothing instead of boring. I watched my niece get married yesterday. I met the woman she loves, and I approve. The love of my niece's life is strong and passionate and absolutely adores my darling girl. I could not wish better for her. And my niece? Oh what a lovely woman she has become, so full of kindness and compassion overlaying strength that is shocking in it's depth. And my nephew. He is a man. He has had trying times in the past, all of his own creation, but he has turned his life around. He is a Man... I am deeply proud of him. He has found wisdom in the last few years, and there was no advice from my lips. I just listened. It was as if something clicked in him, and he found his Truth. He has become a good provider, a good father, a good partner to his lovely lady. When did these darling children become adults? How is it possible that these three feet tall people have all surpassed me and now I have to tilt my head up, shade my eyes from the sun in order to look into their beautiful faces? Ahhhh, well time does keep ticking along even when we don't pay attention. And now there is a new generation to love and adore. May we all find our wisdom and our love in all its various forms.peace and passion, sunshine *edited to clarify - the young man in the story above is NOT the one visiting who just got back from Eye rack. That is his brother.
