Des...thank you for saying this to Sage..She has done phenomenally here with her anxiety attacks and with dealing with chronic pain from tissue damage. There was more give in the bathroom tiles we removed for the bath remodel than in her neck yesterday and you could see her struggling against the pain while trying to deal with the noise and intrusion of the Plumbers at the same time as dealing with a migraine level headache. Venting here helped her a bit but she also feels very guilty when she does. Yesterday was the very first time I have seen her resort to her medications to deal since she has been with us. We have been working on techniques that allow her to ride out or work out the anxiety and panic attacks, but pain like she was going through is something that can't be ridden out for long without it taking a toll on the person you are. It hurt to see her given in to the pain and take medications she has been able to do without, to try and relax her neck enough to move it. Buttah (Sage) is an excellent high tolerance pain slut...always reaching for more, harder, crueler pains, but this laid her low, and nothing was helping. When it gets that bad it is good to know she has someplace like this to vent, without people judging her. poenkitten

Thank you Tulip..she is a very special person to us. The kink is good, but the feelings are better, and the best part is when each person involved cares enough about the other to help them through the rough patches not just the good ones. It is wonderful to see her blossom (and that is the only way to describe it), when she first got here she was comfortable with us but would not venture far in a store or even outside to have a cigarette alone. Now she waves at the neighbors, smokes when she needs to and I had to look for her twice in the stores today (she is so short I couldn't see her over the bookshelves). That night at the Woodshed was the very first time she ever played in public and I don't think she even realized there were people watching until after the scenes were done. Not one moment of panic. She has had a couple of panic attacks since, but she knows to touch base with us and hold on while deep breathing through them. She is coming back from them faster and faster each time and the triggers are beginning to lessen, though they are still there. Nothing goes away over night, but we will get her there. She is even sleeping through the night now and waking up eager to see what the day is going to bring. Think we will keep her.. poenkitten
