I love it when a plan actually starts to come together in the midst of utter Chaos...... Despite having 2 people bail on me who had promised help on a couple of specific projects needing to get done prior to leaving this Saturday - woodworking projects that I simply don't have the time, or the skill level with a jigsaw, to complete on my own amidst the mad flurry of freneticly frenzied sewing I'm up to my eyeballs with finishing costuming - I had someone else (rather unexpected) step up to the plate and say he'd be by tomorrow afternoon to do ALL of the necessary woodwork for me. Since he's a journeyman carpenter, he's used to knocking out woodworking projects in a hurry - he took one look at the plans for the three pieces of furniture needing to be completed and laughingly said that he could get it all finished for me in a couple of hours. His price? A ride to the event that I need them for, since I'm going anyway! (Cheap at Twice the price.) The sewing projects are finally falling together (no - not apart - I may not be the world's best seamstress, but I'm not so bad that they'll fall apart any time soon, thank you.) The first set of harem pants and crop top are finished, the second set is cut out and will be finished before I go to bed tonight, the third set is ready to be cut out, the gwazi jacket that goes with all three sets is cut out and ready to put together either before bed tonight or first thing in the morning, one shirt is lacking only one cuff and the other shirt is slated to get cut out and sewn tomorrow afternoon, along with the split skirt and boned vest, and the rest of the massive costume sewing for 3 people project has nothing left but a couple of hems and some hand work that's going to get done on the way to the event. (The two guys that are riding in my van both have class A CDL licences, so they've volunteered to do all the driving so I can get hand sewing done rather than driving myself crazy trying to make time to do it all before friday.) I managed to get a babysitter to agree to stay with dad - for free, no less, as long as I stock the fridge and freezer with stuff she likes prior to heading out saturday morning. My camp kitchen has been unpacked, cleaned, and repacked so that it's ready to go and I know exactly where the coffee pot is in the tote (perhaps The most important part of the kitchen going, after all!) All in all - coming together Much better than anticipated...... (now if I can just keep dad from having another panic attack about me being gone for a week, we'll be in great shape... )
