Or try some of that apricot facial scrub with the tiny bits in it, I would think it to be much safer than sandpaper...in the end, it's whatever floats your boat, it is after all your body.

That is correct, if you get a severe bend in your penis it can be impossable to have intercourse so be careful. Maybe you could try exfoliating gloves.They are pretty common at beauty supply places and might not cause so much damage.

I would keep some aloe gel on hand, so in case you get extreme again, you can maybe soothe your parts.  if you are going to engage in play that may scrape the head of your penis, I would go to the drug store, and buy some Betadine Scrub, and wash your penis with this first.  This is what is used in surgery.  Then, with your penis clean of the germs that live on it, commense with play.  After play, clean again.  Good luck :)

I would go as a third on the exfolating gloves. If you are not getting a god enough rise out of them, think about a sponge with a scrub side. They are coarser than the gloves and they do not shed much. I ahve used them for abrasion play before, never quite to THAT extent but they were well recieved.

I've been using sand paper for years and depending on you age/health/frequency of use, I predict you'll simply build thicker skin in abraded area (a callus). A natural skin response, like hand calluses after shoveling for 40 hrs/week.  And the human immune system is one of the best of the animal kingdom.  Probably the only human trait still evolving!  As a population we can build antibodies to anything, even extraterrestrial particles.
