Ya know...i am one of these lucky people who almost never get sick. I never get a flu shot (they hurt, damnit) because i do not get the flu. And as far as colds go...i can count the number of tissues i have used in adulthood on one hand. Until this morning.
I was rudely awakened this AM by my um who, of all damn things, was thirsty. Sheeeech. But good mom that i am i went to take care of the tiny cutie-pie. Here i made my first mistake of the day...i tried to lift my head off the pillow. Somehow throughout the night my head gained 10 pounds. And, not to be gross here, but i could feel the snot grouping together in my sinuses. Sorta like Santa Anna's army forming to raid the Alamo. And speaking of Santa Anna, that lil shit ordered a bugle boy to change to the drums and pound them as hard as possible in my poor head.
Of course my ever helpful Sir pissed me off as soon as possible. He announced he would get his own breakfast. So he asks for the cereal. Then he wonders aloud if we have banannas, never thinking to look in ..oh..say...the fruitbowl? Finally he asked if we had milk (of course we do, dear. I keep it in the laundry room next to the fabric softener.). After he got his own ceral bowl and spoon (ooo...you GO, Sir...i KNEW you could do it) he asked me if i had packed his lunch yet (*sigh*) Now he is gone (BYE!!!!), the um is napping peacefully, and i am sitting here with no one to grump to.
