So, I currently dont have HSV1 or HSV2. Im a rare oddity. My partner has oral HSV1. Honestly? I would really prefer to get it genitally. HSV1 is commonly seen in the mouth, and HSV2 is commonly seen in the genitals. However, you can get HSV1 genitally, and HSV2 orally. In that instance, however, you see far fewer outbreaks than when the virus is in its preferred area. So, I would much rather have genital HSV1 or oral HSV2 :-) You can also get herpes in almost any mucus membrane, including your eyes.
