Random Question: Do you have any, say...hobbies, or interests? Interests besides your health issues perhaps? I ask because in college I had a friend, and you vaguely remind me of her. She was bulimic, asthmatic, anorexic, bipolar, and whatever else she happened to diagnose herself with. Within fifteen minutes of meeting her for the first time I knew about her knee surgery, her carpel tunnel, and her IBS. Guess what? We're no longer friends. In fact she couldn't keep friends because all she ever talked about was her health problems. I'm not some cruel or mean person, we tried to help her, but after three years I realized two things: one, she wasn't as sick as she pretended, and two, she was a terribly boring person. You've been run off other boards because people get bored of hearing you talk about yourself. Right now you're a novelty, so you're getting alot of attention here, but eventually people will stop responding to you and you will go else ware. I didn't type all this to be cruel, but to make a point.

YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIP UNTIL YOU BECOME MORE THAN JUST YOUR PROBLEMS.

You are a very cute girl. From your writings I find you both imaginative and bright, but seriously Doll do you ever want something more, EVER? Because there's stuff out there way better than a message board full of people who will never know you.

I know I'm asking in vain, but please, please get some help. My bestie ran into that old friend not to long ago. She is still very, very alone. Don't be that girl.

I may talk about my health problems online, but I don't in person...cept with my doctors. Hell, no one even knows I was in the hosptial, besides my parents and brother and sister in law...my grandmother doesn't...my aunts and uncles don't. They never will either.

I don't really have many hobbies...I love animals...I like to read (at least when I can concentrate) I am interested in health and nutrition (obviously LOL)

Reading's good, animals too. You're such a cute girl, but you're just kind of sad. You want a solid relationship right? A healthy relationship? Doll, flat out kid, you're making yourself sound like a nut job. A solid grounded guy is not going to write to you.

Why do real doctors hang out on that thread? How about having her go to her real doctor, in real life and do what he tells her to do. I can understand that these forums are a great way to keep in touch with people who share your interests. As far as medical questions go, your really better off if you go to real doctors and not just take the advice of people online who may or may not know what they are talking about. I also understand that you may not like the advice the Dr gives you, but coming on CM and trying to get answers that will make you happy is not going to help.

Yes, but the boards will give her a lot of attention and I think that is really the main goal here. I had a neighbor, when I was growing up, who thought the whole eating disorder thing sounded like a great way for attention. She'd throw up and then binge and her parents draged her to all kinds of dr's. All the kids in school talked about it and she did get a lot of attention. When she finally got past needing that kind of attention and tried to have a normal life, she found her digestive system was still really screwed up. All the years of playing around with it had messed up her stomach permanatly. I hope all that attention was worth it for her.
