I dont know how much good this will do Me, and I dont know if itll stay up, since its not really BDSM related....but its worth a try, right?

I am looking for a female pit bull -puppy- she will not be bred, female is just My preference..I would like to find one for free and if at all locally between My area and Louisville. I can provide a fenced in yard, the dog will not be bred, I am not a breeder and have no intrest in becoming one...I just love the breed and want a puppy.

Please mail Me on the other side with any info or if you have one.

Thanks

Kirren

I'm looking for a new dog, and the rescue shelters here are full of pit bull mixes, which I don't want since they aren't that trustworthy with ums. Too territorial.

Just for fun I tried it, they list 9111 pets in you state.  Just pick the one(s) you want to look at and distance you are willing to travel.

I have called every pet shelter between here and Louisville.

The local ones will not adopt out pits due to some insane law that says that they are "vicious" which is crap...and pisses Me off....and then the ones in Louisville run anywhere from 135$ to 255$...which like I said Im not concerned about having papers, but if Im paying that much for one, it better have papers and know how to speak english....cos I got My 3 year old Pit for free....and I know in a month or so Ill be able to walk around trippin over free ones...but at the same time...-sighs- I dunno...Im just getting frustrated.

Actually, that is false. Pits, especially females, if you get them young, as I got My girl at 5 weeks of age, and train them with the kids, and teach them the No command from the start...are EXCELLENT with kids.

Tasia is 3 now, shes never been bred, she has been fixed and thinks of My kids as her babies...she goes to them at night at bed time with Me to tell them good night, she watches them get on and off the bus, and she goes to them when they cry.

Pits have a bad bad bad rep because of people fighting them, being too harsh with them, or just plain neglecting them. In reality the breed, if trained right and taught to behave as ANY dog should be taught make extreamly good pets for any home.

Do I suggest getting an adult? No. Because just like with ANY dog you get the baggage of the previous owners.

Do I suggest getting a male? If you are single and have massive patience, yes. They tend to be more stubborn than the females.

Would I suggest a pit in a home with kids? Absolutely. They are extreamly high energy and love to run and play with kids. Tasia, My pit, has cuddled with My 7 year old when he has bad dreams, has herded him away from danger and has loved on him when he is sad.

The facts are, and even vets will tell you this, is that small dogs are MORE likely to bite than a large dog.  And any dog, if not properly trained and if not properly disciplined will become a danger.

But to each his own. Its like anything else, you cant tell some one any different than years of misunderstanding has taught them already.

Breed discrimination puts a lot of really good dogs to death every year because of ignorance that has been spread out of fear. My dad hated Tasia when I got her. He said that she would turn on Me and would eat Me and all kinds of bad things. The ONLY thing that dog was a danger to EVER were geraniums in My living room.  She shredded them over My carpet about 6 times before I finally realized she wanted to go play in the dirt and took her to the beach where she could dig and run.

Here we are 3 years after the fact, and dad will sneak Tasia cookies, he gives her treats every time he sees her and he loves on her and speaks to her every time he is here. He was attacked by a pit....one that had been trained to attack strangers. And yes this can be done.  But its not wise...and yes it will lead to issues later. But that could happen with a pomeranian.

You want a dangerous dog? Or potentially dangerous? Get a Pincher...why? Their brain continues to grow after the skull has stopped so it puts pressure on the brain and causes them to go insane...so I am told.  Or a charpe...the wrinkles get in their eyes, they cant see and they tend to attack what ever touches them. Or even a poodle..a breed that carries hereditary blindness and that causes mean streaks because they can not see whats happening and lash out.

Dont blame an innocent dog for what bad owners have done. Dont blame the whole breed for what a carless or money hungry owner has done. Pits are wonderful dogs. They do not shed as much as many other dogs, they tend to be extreamly clean, because of the very short hair. They smile when you pet them....and they cry when you punish them...they each have a different personality, and each personality is a direct reflection of the person who owns them. But please believe Me when I tell you, they are NOT dangerous, and if you get a very young puppy, take your time, and also teach your children about how to treat a dog, you will have a companion that will love you and your kids and will protect you and your home(well...okay...not always Tasia may lick you to death, or beat you with her tail before she barks or growls...) and you will have a loyal animal that will be with you for a very long and very happy time.

-steps off the soap box-
