There was an interesting thread in the Gorean Lifestyle Forum about branding slaves which is worthy of a read. Branding of slaves

ChereeAmoor -> RE: Branding (10/3/2005 5:57:12 AM)

We are considering it as well - hope all goes well for you!

i have been branded by a technique i have heard called devils fire, but have not been able to find anything under that name on the internet so not sure what the proper name, if any there is for it...the technique is to heat a disecting pin, or something of similar size to red or white, depending on the person you're talking to with a small torch and touch it to the skin briefly, and can range from just the popping of the top skin cells (which creates a fun little popping noise) to actually scarring the skin, that being said, please don't try it without first hand, in person training because as with all sharp pointy things you can hurt someone easily and that multiplies when you heat it...the brand i had done is a butterfly on my left shoulder blade, i have a fairy of considerably larger size on the right shoulder blade and, personally, of the two the fairy hurt more and took longer to heal and i was in subspace after the branding...but everyone is different
on the other hand, if the branding experience is one you are looking for possibly even more so than the actual brand itself, strike or multistrike branding is the way to go and there is a lot more info out there on these options...as for pretty brandings, cautery is the most painful but most detailed technique and most, from what i have seen, professional branders use cautery branding unless otherwise requested...
good luck
chelle
ps, it appears that i don't have the picture of my branding on this computer but i may post it later

Lass if you check this forum you will find a threat called "Fire Play". I posted details of "Devil's Fire" there.

Wolfspet -> RE: Branding (10/3/2005 1:32:05 PM)

I have quite a few, mostly "temp" in nature and 2 "permanent"

Feel free to mail me, I do not like to discuss edgier play in a open forum.

Foibey -> RE: Branding (10/3/2005 2:15:33 PM)

Yeah, what was already said. Get someone who knows branding well to either perform it or give extensive training to whoever does perform it. There's a very real danger that the branding tool may go through skin easier than expected (or not as easily as expected) perhaps doing damage either way (although obviously doing too much is obviously more of an issue than it not really doing enough) through unpredictability arising if the brander doesn't know about what amount of heat (related to what size shape and material of tool) will have the right amount of contained heat energy to brand the skin without screwing things up. It's possible for a novice to do a good brand, but it's a pretty big risk to be taking for something that if it goes wrong could be screwed up permanently.

nephandi -> RE: Branding (10/3/2005 2:52:10 PM)

If it get screwed up it become a nasty scar not a nice symbol, though it seam pepole i have talked to warry grately when asked how mutch risk here are, i am considering having one done, an occult symbol on my sholder, or perhaos my thigh, but i am worried as there is so mutch difference in what pepole are sying from totaly safe to it being insanity and i am a bit at a loss as to what to belive.

Good luck to the OP.

It's not totally safe. Nothing is. Beyond that, a lot depends on the skill and experience of the brander. If a brander isn't skilled, you need luck to end up with a good brand and I don't recommend depending on luck.

nephandi -> RE: Branding (10/3/2005 4:22:10 PM)

It seam the elextrical one, the one used normaly for surgery is the one that would be best for me after some resherch as the results look werry nice in the pictures i have seen and it is described as being the safest one, ofcourse nothing is completly safe but i would like to be as safe as possible.

Wildfleurs -> RE: Branding (10/3/2005 5:12:58 PM)

My owner branded me a couple of months ago. I have a quick and dirty website up that has my experiences and a slideshow of the healing so far (we did a deep brand on purpose). Its located at:

www.wildfleurs.com/brand

What I would suggest is to make sure that you read up on it, including thinking through and talking to your doctor if you have any medical conditions that would be remotely affected by or affect the healing of the brand. Consider it a burn wound and think through how you would handle caring for a wound. And I'd also suggest making sure that you take a lot of time before deciding to do the brand and the design. It took about three years for us to get to the point where it was really *time* for the brand.

Hope this helps,

C~

nephandi -> RE: Branding (10/3/2005 6:10:43 PM)

That is a nice website and a nice brand.

susieslave1 -> RE: Branding (10/4/2005 1:04:07 AM)

Thankyou for your response.
