Assholes are everywhere.  Try not to let them get you down.

However, I for one, do not accept 'Friends' invitations from people who have never sent me a message.  If you wanna be my friend, then you have to be friendly first.  Perhaps that was where you went 'wrong' in that person's eye.

watch it... I got in trouble by the moderator for say a**hole.. I think it was more like"keep your comments to yourself"  hehe

Velvetluxe,

I'm with you half way.

Some viewers might think I'm taking this too personally, but I find it incredulous that someone would not only make those assumptions from nothing more than my profile but also go to the trouble of sending me rude missives. Sorry, had to vent and wanted to know if I'm being too sensitive.

I definitely agree that sending you rude messages is rather uncalled for.  I mean, if people are genuinely fake, then being rude to them is unlikely to dissuade them.  Conversely, if someone is not fake, then being rude to them is likely to only annoy someone who they might have liked.

However, making the assumption or being cautious I think is actually quite intelligent.  The vast majority of people lie (quite a bit) to make themselves look better; I am constantly on guard for that alone, much less the stranger ones who either copy or create completely fake personas online.

My basic assumption is that everyone I see on here is that they are actually a chimpanzee until proven otherwise, which I realize is a terrible insult to chimps everywhere.  I hope they forgive me.

But yes, that's a level of rude that approaches untenable for this context.  It shouldn't be surprising, though.  Online + People = Asshattery.  That is fact.

Thankyou to everyone who posted in response. I did go to bed and after sleeping on it woke up not caring :) But it is very reassuring to know that there are some lovely people all across the world united (sometimes not so united...[;)]) on collarme, even though cyberspace definitely has more than its share of strange, strange people. So cheers to you all and have a great week. [:)] [sm=kiss.gif] [:)]

If what's-her-names pedentic mode had been operating properly it would have pointed out that you don't find it incredulous, you--feeling incredulous--find it incredible.

But anyway ...
