Wouldn't nipple piercings fall under "puncture wounds" on the breasts?   As it currently stands I would imagine that CM would be banned from the UK just for the Watertorture banner ads on the frontpage.

It only has to "appear" to be a danger of serious harm or death.  Any sort of suspension bondage could be outlawed, it would seem.  Candle wax on the breasts?  Any rope bondage can cause some real serious harm if done wrong.

Though I do see a reason for laws to prevent the worst sort of images, I can see all kinds of interpretation issues arising.  It would suck to lose all our posters from the UK.

Does there have to be a point, why not a celebration ?

Celebration of what?  Sexism?  Seperatism?
I do support Backlash and it's work, but this is where it all falls apart for me and I end up not taking them seriously.
I don't know if I totally understand why you posted this.  I think I do.  And I believe it is belittling to women.  And I am not even a feminist!

The OP seems devoid of context to me but I guess its the usual thing of the PC brigade looking at things arse backwards or wishing to interfere to protect people from themselves..

So for instance if 1 person commits a heinous crime and pornography is found in his possession then the nannies will  believe the porn. was responsible.
Reminding them that 10 zillion people watch porn with a wide variety of responses, none of them evil,  has no impact at all.

We have a perfect example with the current PC fad in the UK, binge drinking by mostly late teens early twenties.
To discourage them the government proposes to reduce the amount of alcohol it is possible to consume while driving from a small amount to a very small amount.
Obviously doing that will have no affect on binge drinking but it might get a few people who have committed no serious traffic violation off the road. In the meanwhile the road traffic fatality rate will remain at a statistically vanishingly small number and the binge drinkers will merrily  continue to spew their guts everywhere.
Likewise punishing people for viewing porn will achieve absolutely nothing.

And some on this sight tell me that the PC brigade  exist only in my imagination.I arsk ya'

Another point, what do the nannies think about the quite severe Lesbian BDSM that is available on the net. ? Which female is demeaned there ?
Only arskin'

My apologies to all who might have got the wrong end of the stick with this post, my desire in posting was  to highlight the current bill for those of us who are UK members of this site, and it's probable outcome later this month.

I also wished to draw attention to the fact that it was the females that were being highlighted as defending the rights of all of us.

This morning was ,how can I say it, well, a different morning.

Wait, I thought the feminists were AGAINST pornography like, six months ago.  Now they're for it?

Can I get a recap on that?  I think I missed something.

Depends on the part of the feminist movement.  Some sections are for it and some sections are against it.  The movement is not very united.

Seeks, the expression "PC brigade" went out of fashion last millenium. You're showing your age [:D] .

General ...

I don't want to get in to the right or wrong of this, that being an individual decision, but would point out that laws will only move this type of activity to paces with no laws, or underground.

Feel good laws, are no laws at all.

kittinSol -> RE: Women's Views, tf for some women (4/1/2008 1:09:45 PM)

Some individuals always try to circumvent the law. The law sends a clear message as to whether something is acceptable or not to society; and it's bloody useful to prosecute the individuals in question. It doesn't mean that all laws are just, fair, or right: but this one aims to send a message out there. A message that I believe deserves to be heard.

Aneirin -> RE: Women's Views, tf for some women (4/1/2008 4:00:47 PM)

Laws exist, and for a very good reason, the protection of the individual, their family home and possesions. What I do fear, is how a law may be interpreted, given there are no hard and fast guidlines drawn. What is extreme to one, maybe small potatoes to another and vice versa.

What a person may do to another, is all down to interpretation of the law as to them being unlawful or not, i.e. depends on the viewer. That being the case, prosecutions and non prosecutions will run a wavy line, which is of no use to anyone.

Consent in law, well, in law  one has to be of a sound mind to give consent, how many do we hear of who are assessed by psychology prior to standing trial, anyone can be understood to have any number of issues which would cause erroneous consent, again, down to the interpreter.
