I own a custom leather shop in the Mid west. The products shown in my collarme ID are ideas, not products on the shelf since everything I do is by request. My skills are elebrate pictures carved ( as apposed to stamped) into Herman Oak leahter, hand stitched and backed with real sheeps wool, real mink or other real, not faux product of choice. Gem stones are real. ( I get them at a huge discount) Some ideas for your privet collection, or to give your submissive that special look, are tooled posture collars, collars that you design with my help, and I create. Portrate paddles, yes you can have your, or your subs protrate carved into leather on a paddle you choose all colors, shapes and design. The standard cuffs, etc I do too, but prefer the specialty work that takes talent and creativity to produce. i can testify to Jewels work.. one word.. OUTSTANDING.. leather tooling is invisible within our leather community... this will be an exciting and more personal option for many ! Thank You Jewel for allowing me to add Your products to my website!

Thank you cheryl for the kind words. I will be adding more pics soon. I have been a saddle maker since 1999, now with the crash of the horse market I find my self with the time to venture out into the world I live in so to speak. Im looking forward to this new adventure. If there are other toolers in this lifestyle I would love to meet them. Like cheryl said, there aren't many, I have found none. Thank you again cheryl for the wonderful custom floggers that grace my wall. *grins* you too are an artist.

Its back up now. I had it down redoing my profile for about 10 mins, you must have hit my down time. I will also have new pics of a wonderful posture collar that has a tooled cougar, hand dyed lepord rabbits wool and backed in sheeps wool.. It will be about 3 days before Im ready to show it.. but I really like this one. When you do custom work you don't always LOVE the peices... but ... its not about me.. its about the customer loving it... This one I do LOVE! Can't wait to show it off.

I did take a look at your link. What we do is still very diffrent and not compeating at all. Although we both "tool" our styles are not competitive.. meaning that we don't both offer exactly the same thing.. Painting leather isn't easy, and you are the first I have seen that does this away from the "Western" leather artists. Im sure there are some out there, but .. I haven't seen them. Nice to meet you.

Im having a portrate paddle sale this month through July. Those are the custom tooled paddles on my profile. You pick the design. I draw them out and send you the pattern as proof of your one of a kind. One side for 150. includes leather braided handle, Herman Oak leather and hours of consultation. as well as gemstones.

Actually, and I hate to admit it, leather tooling and carving seems to be fast becoming a lost art. While I still keep my hands in, finding people who want the work is hard enough to do.

Years ago I would have people waiting for hand tooled saddles, belts, rifle cases.... now they dont want to spend the money for a quality product, they rather by the cheap machined stuff.

Sorry, but I have seen thread stitching wear out in a couple of years, while stuff that I made using real senew has lasted 20 plus years.

Happy to meet another carver/tooler.

I compleatly agree with you. I started my leather making life as a saddle maker. Back then I had over a year waiting list, and then couldn't keep up. People wanted quality and ask for Herman Oak, or hand stitching so that a knot was tied in ever quality waxed stitch and they knew they were buying a product that would last far past thier lifetime. Today India and Pakastan has eatten up our market with what I call, paper leather. Im not sure the thread is even that, looks like what slave darns my socks with. People complain that the USA has lost thier export market.. yet they choose disposable products and leather work is one of the casualties.
I would love to see your stuff, as Im a huge fan of other artists.. Please feel free to contact me on CM and brag away.

I appologize for being off my own board so long. For those I did notrespond to.. I had a good excuse. I live in Iowa.. other wise known during June as Water World.. so July was more the fixing month.. Im back now and greatful to find someone still checking out my work..
