Google "bdsm munches".

mercxi -> RE: finding a domme (10/5/2005 10:12:20 AM)

most of them are people 40 and over

Wow you're really asking about NYC? One of the top 3 oldest and largest and most affluent bdsm/alternative reality locations you could find? You'd have to kind of work to NOT hear about kink events going on there.

I'm afraid EVERYWHERE currently the bdsm community is skewed towards an older average age, you're just going to have to accept it. It is my belief that in the next few generationsl, the average age will be more evenly spread towards the overall average, but that will take time.

But in most larger communities, and DEFINITELY in NYC/NY, there are specialized groups for youngsters and a very large and broad younger contingent. Trust me, I was active in the NY scene through 03/04 and have a lot of connections there.

Yup,bunch of out of shape old farts for the most part,tis the sad thing of munches.

You could always try hanging around in malls outside of the "hot topic' stores at malls and hitting on the cute girls I guess.[;)]

Try "paddles"...it's a club in NYC.

Hi. There is a group exactly designed for you in NYC. It is a chapter of "The Next Generation" group. Don't let it bother you that it's sponsored by the gay male pride group; everyone is welcome.

Try, Conversio Virium -- its a Columbia University group and at least when I helped found it it was open to people outside of the campus as well as college students, staff and faculty.

Being a student (still but not for long hopefully) I can fully understand mercxi's frustrations in finding organizations for people under 21.

I mean, really, the age to consent to sex is generally 16-18 in most states isn't it?

But I would also encourage mercxi to go to events like munches and TES and other clubs even if you are the youngest and even if you can't "become a member". These events will still let you in and you'll meet lots of people and you can learn a lot.

I know (in the general sense of the word) the founder of the TNG groups (The Next Generation-- for folks between 18-35) and he went to TES a lot before he could become a member. He learned a lot, got known, and then had the skills and knowledge to reach out to others. Plus he found partners there.

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: finding a domme (10/5/2005 1:39:31 PM)

It's also a lot easier for a chick than a guy.

My long standing proverb is that the best way for a guy to get into the scene is on the arms of a cute chick.

Age to consent can vary from 12 to 18, depending on parental consent, the other difference between the partners age and other things.

And even WITHIN an organization the age difference can be troubling. For BESS it's 19 for most events, but 21 for solely play events (huge debates over that when it came up).

But if you gotta pick a place to get into the scene at a young age, NYC is a pretty good spot to start.

sting516 -> RE: finding a domme (10/5/2005 2:11:26 PM)

One other resource that has a next generation group is TES...a.k.a. The Eulenspiegel Society...when someone is first getting into the 'scene' it was a group i found to be very helpful.

Their website is www.tes.orgThe Eulenspeigel Society

hope this helps,

sting

I got very lucky and had 2 older women I work with who were into the scene introduce me to a lot of people. I do however agree that I've found a lot of older people them myself where around when I got into things (2000). I think its just difficult for someone young to really know that option exists let alone know that its something they want to explore.
