Outside of BDSM I work in the science field and therefore until there is some proof or other I cannot accept the existance of a deity.

As for BDSM, I love sin. I am a sinner and I will keep enjoying it.

My mind boggles at the thought of telling a bunch of church people ANYTHING about my sex life. First of all, they do not have and probably could not adequately demonstrate to me a "Need To Know".

Find a different church, enjoy services, and don't worry about "sin". If you feel comfortable with your private life, then it is most likely okay. For me, sin is where you set out to do harm, and I just don't see that in your situation.

I generally respect people's right to religion-but I have to say I always called the Christian bible "the big book of contradictions"

Dig around in there long enough, you can make it say just about anything you want it to. Too bad that millions have had to die over all of the "interpretations" of a bunch of hebrew folk tales.

How tragic.

hmmmmm, guess that is why this slave is the only one in her Bible Study group

Hi beth,
lol) I'm the only one in my bible study group now too.

quote:

You haven't mentioned which branch/denomination of christianity your church is and that would help and make it easier to work from. And believe me denomination does matter!

Hi dark~angel,
I was raised Catholic, went Penticostal from age 20-25, then back to Catholic till 2003 where I'd just had enough of all the we're right and everybody else is going to hell attitude the church took and decided I don't need a building to go to or a group to name myself under to believe in God or Jesus.
I revolted and became a non-chrch attending person of Faith overall.

I've also read the book of Mormon & the Koran and I've discussed Jewish Faith with Rabbis in my Best friends temple, and talked to Muslum, Hindu and Buddhist people about their faith.
I guess now I'm a Christian who feels if you're working towards good, love of God & try to do no harm we are on the same team no matter how you get there or what you call yourself.
Sincerely,
sub suzanne

Hey plantlady and dark~angel,

I could almost have written this post myself, lol. I was baptised and raised Methodist, had Jewish cousins who came to celebrate Christmas with us (read: receive presents), have Muslim friends, converted to Catholicism and practiced for about 10 years, was pressured by CM & A "friends" to join their church, I "investigated" the Mormon church (and almost bought into it until I read the D&C), and my mother joined a Quaker church about 5 years before she died.

What I concluded was that the more loudly anyone proclaimed themselves "Christians", the less truly Christian they actually were. (In my definition of what "Christian" meant, at least) The "Christians" were the first to turn their backs when things happened in my life and I needed friends.

I also concluded that I don't know who's right and who's wrong and who's going to heaven, or if there really even is a heaven, or maybe we're already in hell, lol. I decided to just live my life the way I felt was right, treat others right, do no harm (or as little as possible!), help others when they need it, be content with what I have.

The Bible can be and has been interpreted so many ways, translated and re-translated, and adapted to support whatever doctrine was being created for whatever new and latest church that was branching off from an existing church. "Scholars" and Holy Men have studied lost sea scrolls with missing pieces. They've removed books from older editions of the Bible. Funny how these men decided themselves whether or not they're been "Devinely Inspired". If there really is a "God" sitting up there, he's gotta be laughing.

My answer to anti-masturbation doctrine (and there is some out there) is that, if God didn't want us to masturbate, why did he make our arm the perfect length???

I'm in my own study group, too.....but it's okay, they know me there ;)
