Help please.

If anyone has any suggestions, advice or tips for purchasing (or not) an electronic language translator I would be interested in hearing about it.

I have spent some time on different websites looking at different makes and models (they vary in prices). Some features on the ones I've noticed that interest me are:

At least 3 languages; English, French & Spanish.
Euro converter.
Calculator.
Local/world clock.

Online seems to be the best place as far as availability & price.

Thanks for any help.

Franklin do a lot of work in this area.

Yes, I have noticed that.
I have been reading the reviews and am debating whether to go with just basic, plain & simple or if it's worth it to spend a bit more for better & faster.  Slow speed seems to be a consistant negative in the reviews.

I am leaning towards basic (but the other bells & whistles are tempting).

Thanks for your input.

There is a huge problem with electronic language translators, they are useless at grammar so you need to be careful about what you are doing with the translations you want. You could end up baffling the people who you want to communicate with.

Translate something and then translate it back and you will find a completely different message than you started with. They are far worse than Chinses whispers. Anyway, good luck and I hope you find one that works.

I may have to visit Dallas after a 14 year absence.  If you find one that speaks "Texan," let me know.  I'm a bit rusty now.

Actually, you might want to consult with Level, he's from TX, hehe  [;)]
