Anyone watching the torch relay in San Fran right now? It is surrounded by dozens of riot police with guns and clubs... And the Olympics is supposed to be about international unity and world peace? What a joke this is quickly becoming....

Read your history....the torch relay started with the Nazis. The whole idea is Nazi. And for the flame to be protected by a fascist policy....they would approve. The Olympics should have never been given to China if it requies this much security.

If anyone wants to let the Olympic sponsors know how they feel, there is a list of sponsors on http://en.beijing2008.cn/bocog/sponsors/sponsors/ I, for one, thought it was valuable to let the Volkswagen company know how the coverage coming out of Tibet reminded me of Reichskristallnacht.

For me, the irony of this thread resides in the fact that here, dude is invoking the nazis over a demo in San Francisco, in a melodramatic way... wheareas on a recent thread on violent racism committed by neo-nazi groups, many posters protested that in the current context, Islamophobia is kind of understandable. It would be funny were it not so fucking tragic.

No, Im invoking the Nazis over the way the police and city has responded to the demonstrations. I've never seen so many police protecting something like that. I mean there were more cops there protecting the flame than protecting the president. It was an obsession to make sure China isnt offended. Did you know the chinese guys in blue jumpsuits are part of the Chinese paramilitary forces? The same forces responsible for the human rights abuses in Tibet as we speak? So far this Olympics has only brought out fascism. Reminds me of the pictures of the flame going into Berlin among a sea of swastikas.
