My two cents: even though I've only briefly skimmed this, is that you can be a "alpha" sub... a relationship (in my opinion) where you are always in the service and submitting to your master, and in turn, be a Top to another "sub."

I know quite a bit of people in this situation (although not monogamous), they are in polygamous relationships.

To me, this works out just fine. The Captain/General (Master) is still at the top of the chain of command. You would be his Lieutenant or Sargeant. And others, can be the corporals or privates. So, you would still be "bound" to him by the chain of command (and he can whip you with that chain if you step out of line), but for others who join his "unit," the two of you would in essence be responsible for them.

Anyway, just my two cents in the matter. Not sure if that is even an option at this juncture...

janee and I are long-cycle switches, we changed roles for several months at a time, always with elaborate rituals and contracts. I generally identify as dom but found the long-term role switch to sub-slave exhilarating, difficult, challenging, and delightful... and very informative for my next turn at bat. We did this for three years. We both enjoy the headspace as much as the physicality of bdsm, we get deeply into our roles and stay there as much as we can.

No, it's not. It's one *type* of switch relationship, but it's not "the true definition".

I don't see it as "sides". It's all part of me, always. Consider that with each and every person (or dog) in your life, "appropriate behavior" is a little different. With my owner, "appropriate behavior" means act how he wants me to. In other relationships "appropriate behavior" is different.

I'm almost never in "a dominant space" or "a submissive space" unless I'm playing. Otherwise, I'm just living my life, as much as possible within the bounds of "appropriate behavior" for each person and each situation.
