A bit off topic, but airport related. quote:
FFS, folks.. she's SEVENTY THREE YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!!!! 105 lbs, soaking wet! Often using a cane (for long walks - if you've ever had to get around hartsfield airport in Atlanta you know how far apart those gate changes can be). ETA: the last time she and I flew together, I was dressed in my leather jacket, studded belt, hair in umpteen colors, piercings. Now, who looks more like trouble? The woman wearing a pair of jeans, walking with a cane, grey haired with a doctors letter explaining the hip surgery? Or the chick with attitude? Guess who got waved through? For those of you who have elderly parents, or others who have difficulties like this, you can put in your reservations that a wheelchair is needed, and the airlines will help. Sure it is customary to tip whoever is wheeling you around, but big deal. The reason I am saying this, several years ago my aunt and uncle were going through Atlanta. My aunt got a wheelchair, and my uncle was left scurrying behind with the luggage. Had a heart attack and died there in the airport. OK, a bit of levity with the sob story. Why did TSA take away the knitting needles of the old lady? They wer afraid she was knitting an Afgan. Dragon
